What is the goal?

Don't worry about the impression you're going to make when you ask questions. If you don't know, ask. If you want to understand COMPLETELY, sometimes you have to ask the scary questions. You can't be worried that your client is going to think you're stupid for asking about the purpose of an objective. No one person knows everything and sometimes, having a lack of experience with something means you have no biases or bad habits. There have been so many times in my career when the client asks for something they don't want because they are thinking about the next milestone, not the end goal. Asking questions that some would see as problematic has helped me get to the bottom of the client's issue and help them get to the goal, not just the next perceived milestone. Bad ideas don't get us to the goal, and the goal is to succeed.
